Tourismologist profession is already recognized by law

Ordinance published on Thursday (19) in the Federal Official Daily, meets a longstanding demand of the category that for three decades has been fighting for recognition of the profession of tourismologist.

The Brazilian Association of tourismologist and Tourism Professionals celebrates "the legislation is positive because it opens the way for regulation. We recognize that the Ministry of Tourism has worked for the law to be even broader. Also that, we took a important step towards the consolidation of activities that operationalize the tourism”, explained the president of the association, Tânia Omena.

The Law 12591 of January 18 of 2012, considers tourismologist activities: plan, organize, direct, control, manage and operate institutions and establishments related to tourism, coordinate and guide the selection work and ranking of sites and areas of touristic interest, aiming to adequate use of natural and cultural resources, according to their technical or geographical, historical, artistic and cultural as well as carry out studies of economic and technical feasibility, coordinate and direct surveys, studies and research for institutions, companies and private establishments that meet the touristic sector, among others.

Faced with this pretty picture, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of São Paulo, Márcio França congratulates the tourismologist from Folder, "which are the real sector developers, professionals who carry out our public policies in favor of this segment that, by far, lever the development of São Paulo."
