Santa Rita do Passa Quatro - Homage to Catholic Saint Rita de Cássia or to the owner of land that led to the city, named Ana Rita who was a devotee of the saint. "Passa Quatro" is a reference to a stream that flowed through the city four times. Became a municipality in 1865 and a city in 1894. It was established as a district of Santa Rita. Until 1938, appeared as Santa Rita do Passa Quatro. It became a climate resort in 1950.
