Serra Negra - Health and Climate resort, born of an Indian village in 1820 on lands of Mogi Mirim, along Mantiqueira, called Serra Negra, which later became the name of the village. This is because the vegetation of the mountains surrounding the city was very thick and acquired a dark color when seen from afar. It was founded in 1828. Became a village in 1859 and gained city status in 1885. In 1938, for its characteristics, became a health and climate resort.
