Sete Barras - The city's name came from a legend: centuries ago, a Spanish discovered gold in the river Iporanga, melted the nuggets, turned them into seven bars and decided to bury them temporarily to escape the Portuguese tax authorities. After that, he never found them again. The city was emancipated in 1958.
