Altinópolis - The name is a Tribute to the President of the State of São Paulo, Altino Arantes. The settlement of the site began in the first half of the nineteenth century. In 1909 with the construction of the old railroad linking Sao Paulo to Minas, the district gained a new impulse. In 1918 because of a state law Altinopolis became a town.
