Caconde - Term of African origin, applied to the Angolan town of the region bounded by the river Cumene and its affluents. The name and ranged from Cacunda and Caconda to Caconde. The name was probably given by runaway slaves (quilombolas) who took refugee there before the gold cycle.
Tourist attractions: Mirante and Rosário squares, Prainha Park, Caconde Plant, waterfall Lafaiete and Pardo river (rafting, canoeing and buoy-cross).
